Fasnet in Umkirch

We visited a near by town, Umkirch to see the Fasnet parade, it is meant to scare away the evil spirits for the new year. They really liked to stuff confetti down peoples shoes, shirts, pants etc.

I'm Back!!

So, I finally got my camera and my computer to play nicely together, so here are more pictures!
I went to Heidelberg with my German class, turns out I had been there the last time I was in Germany, I didn't really notice until I was there.
Here's a picture from the castle looking over the town.

Heidleberg's university is one of the oldest in the country. We visited the old student jail where all the spoiled rich students would misbehave to try to get thrown into. Then they would draw and write on the walls to leave their mark for the future.

We visited one of the lecture halls where they have important speakers, including a Nobel prize winner a couple of weeks ago, our tour guide let us sneak up to the podium.

Last we visited the old town bridge going into the city, from here you could see the castle.
